Former PM Johnson sparks controversy again

UK News

Former British Prime minister Boris Johnson’s op:ed in the Daily Mail has some lifted eyebrows. In his piece he talks about “lower birthrates may be a great thing” referring the theory of human caused climate change. Johnson’s logic is that les humans means less climate impact. The former PM who himself has nine children has a tradition of involvement with climate issues and his father, Stanley Johnson on a 2020 Channel4 TV show said ‘wouldn’t it be wonderful if some crazy pandemic would wipe out a big chunk of the human population’ Critics are calling the recent rant anti-human and malteusian after the British scholar Thomas Robert Malthus who in 1798 publish a book on the subject, warning of over population. The human population has grown over 8 times since his publication and largely without any of the effects of his book .
